    Journey into the Loire Valley, with an en route visit to Blois, before continuing to discover the enchanting Chambord Chateau. Enjoy a two-night stay in Amboise, taking a scenic tour of the Loire Valley and exploring the captivating town of Saumar.

    As we continue our journey to Nimes in Provence for a three-night stay, we’ll visit the city of Clermont Ferrand. Relax in Nimes with a day at leisure, and then take in the ancient city of Avignon, famous for its historical centre. Admire the beautiful Palais des Papes, see the cathedral, and marvel at the Pont d'Avignon. Our excursion will also include the opportunity to marvel at the incredible Pont du Gard, an ancient aqueduct dating from Roman times - the perfect photo opportunity!

    Then to the charming seaside town of Saint Raphael on the French Riviera for a two-night stay. Explore the town at your own pace to take in its many attractions, before we continue home.

    Enjoy an en route excursion to discover the marvellous city of Aix-en-Provence today. This beautiful destination is home to a great many attractions, from its fascinating museums to its chic boulevards and public squares. Spend time admiring the many sights here.
    Chambord Chateau
    En Route: Blois and Chambord Chateau

    Enjoy an en route visit to Blois, where much of the historical ambience of the medieval town remains preserved. Admire the town’s piecturesque white-washed houses and narrow cobbled alleys, before we continue to the Chambord Chateau.

    One of the largest and most dramatic chateaus in the Loire, Chambord Chateau’s geometrical construction is a masterpiece of stone and slate, reputedly inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.

    Clermont Ferrand
    En Route: Clermont Ferrand
    Discover the magnificent city of Clermont Ferrand, famous for its historical city centre. It’s here that we’ll find the city’s striking 13th-century cathedral, made from jet-black volcanic rock. Clermont Ferrand is one of France’s oldest cities, and our en route visit will give us the opportunity to explore its many sights - be sure to enjoy a stroll through the Jardin Lecoq gardens. 
    En Route: Macon
    Spend time exploring Macon with an en route visit, taking in its pretty pastel-painted buildings and historical centre. It would be remiss not to sample some of the town’s famous local wine during our time here, and be sure to admire Macon’s old cathedral and the 15th-century carvings on the Maison de Bois building. 
    Pont du Gard
    Full Day: Avignon and Pont du Gard

    Today we visit the classic Roman city of Avignon, famous for its ancient town centre. Discover the magnificent medieval ramparts during our time here, as well as admiring the town’s marvellous attractions, which include the Palais des Papes, the cathedral, and the Pont d'Avignon, now all classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    After our time in Avignon, we’ll take in the amazing Roman aqueduct known as the Pont du Gard. This magnificent structure is thought of as one of France’s most important archaeological sites.

    Nice coastal view
    Full Day: Nice and Cannes

    Today we visit Cannes, once a small fishing village and now a fashionable resort renowned the world over for its film festival. Discover the city’s attractive views and luxury shopping options, as well as its variety of museums and other attractions.

    We’ll then travel on to sophisticated Nice, with its beautiful sandy beach, palm tree-lined 'Promenade de Anglais' and charming Old Town.

    Saumur
    Full Day: Scenic Loire and Saumur
    A drive along the scenic Loire Valley takes us to Saumur, overlooked by an imposing fairy-tale chateau with its four towers rising high above the town. Saumur is known for being home to the National Riding School and elite Cadre Noir cavalry regiment, as well as being surrounded by one of the oldest vineyards in France, so the chance to sample some excellent white wines is not to be missed.

    Cadre Noire Cavalry School
    Enjoy an optional excursion to the famous Cadre Noire Cavalry School in Saumur, known for its equestrian displays. This historical school was founded in 1828 to train the French cavalry, and today’s instructors are considered great riding masters. Discover the indoor arena, stables and tack room, learning more about the history of the Cadre Noir during our tour. 
    Saintes Maries de la Mer in Camargue
    Full Day: Arles and the Camargue

    Join us as we explore the delights of Provence with a visit to historical Arles. This ancient Roman city is filled with fascinating sights, such as the remains of the Gallo-Roman theatre, the amphitheatre, the Alyscamps (Roman necropolis) and the Arles Obelisk. During our time here, we will also enjoy the opportunity to admire the stunning natural beauty of the Camargue.

    Guided Walking Tour of Nice’s Old Town
    No visit to Nice would be complete without exploring its Old Town, known as the Vieux Nice by the locals. This part of Nice is known for its Mediterranean feel, and we’re sure to enjoy the bustling atmosphere. Join our optional guided tour to discover sights such as the Opera of Nice, featuring stunning Belle Epoque architecture; the Cours Saleya, one of Nice’s liveliest streets; and the Baroque Cathedrale Sainte Reparate. 
    Palace of the Popes, Avignon
    Palais des Papes
    Avignon’s Palais des Papes is one of Europe’s largest and most important Gothic buildings, with this imposing fortress and palace once being the seat of Western Christianity throughout the 14th-century. 

    We discover this magnificent palace during our visit today, with time to admire the impressive facades, gates and intricate frescos at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
