Spanning three floors, the Windermere Hotel contains 69 comfortable bedrooms. If you’re looking for that extra special touch, you can choose to upgrade to our stylish new Premier and Superior Rooms. Inside the hotel you’ll find a warm, intimate atmosphere, and the friendliest of welcomes from our highly experienced staff.
    • Perfectly situated on a hilltop overlooking the quaint village of Windermere and the beautiful surrounding areas
    • The Hotel was originally called the Riggs Windermere Hotel, named after Thomas Rigg, who built it in 1847
    • A recent refurbishment to the bar and restaurant has left us with a modern look, but the hotel keeps its charm

    Full Day: Ambleside, Grasmere & Keswick

    Excursion to bustling Ambleside, situated at the head of the Lake Windermere, pretty Grasmere – the home of Wordsworth and the famous gingerbread shop and Keswick, on the shores of Derwentwater.

    Full Day: Mountain Goat Tour – Beatrix Potter

    Excursion with Mountain Goat Tours discovering areas of the Lake District associated with Beatrix Potter and exploring some of the Lake District’s spectacular scenery that is inaccessible by our tour coach. Take in the view from Wray Castle, admire Tarn Hows, call at pretty Hawkshead and tour Langdales and the Yewdale Valley. There will also be a stop at Hill Top, Beatrix Potter’s 17th century farm cottage*.

    * Please note – entrance to Hill Top is not included in our day trip. Hill Top is a National Trust property and National Trust members will receive free entry on production of a valid membership card. Non-members wishing to enter the cottage will need to pay direct.

    Steam Yacht Gondola
    Half Day: Coniston & Steam Yacht Gondola

    Excursion to Coniston where we enjoy a cruise aboard the Steam Yacht Gondola – an elegant coal fired steam yacht, providing a nostalgic sailing experience.

    Full Day: Ambleside, Grasmere & Keswick
