    This river cruise will provide a unique experience, as we board the MS Princesse d'Aquitaine for a relaxing break. We travel along the Garonne River and then join the Gironde River.

    During our river cruise, we will get the opportunity to discover the towns of Pauillac, famous for its vineyards; Blaye, with its captivating citadel built by Vauban for Louis XIV; and Libourne, known for its Gothic architecture. We will also spend time exploring the city of Bordeaux, perhaps most famous for the wine of the same name.

      Each of these cabins is equipped with an en suite bathroom, as well as a safe, hairdryer, TV, air conditioning, and telephone. The cabins also have fixed beds and a large picture window to admire the beautiful changing scenery as we cruise.

    During our excursion, we make our way along the famous Corniche road, nestled against the Dordogne River. We follow this picturesque route to Bourg, a captivating little village with stunning medieval architecture. Admire this charming destination, before we head to Blaye to marvel at the town’s ancient Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Explore the UNESCO city of Bordeaux with us today, taking in the beautiful boulevards and riverbanks. We take a panoramic tour of the city by coach, admiring its many sights and attractions, and learning more of its interesting history.

    Cadillac and the Roquetaillade Castle

    We discover the town of Cadillac with a guided tour,k taking in sights such as its UNESCO gates and ramparts, as well as its main square and charming old houses. We also take in the 15th-century church, and also visit the Roquetaillade castle.

    This medieval chateau is known for its splendid interiors, which are classed as a historic monument, and we will spend time exploring them. After this, we enjoy a wine-tasting experience in the castle’s vineyard. 

    St Emilion
    Saint Emilion

    Join us as we explore the underground monuments in the fascinating town of Saint Emilion, before visiting the troglodyte dwelling of the monk Emilion, who originally founded the town. Then on to see the town’s Monolithic church, carved from a limestone cliff.

    Saint-Emilion is a well-known wine-making town, and the final stop on our optional excursion will be to visit a local wine-growing estate to enjoy a wine-tasting session.

    The Medoc is a lovely wine-making region of France, home to over 1,500 vineyards, and with some of the Bordeaux region’s finest wines being produced here. During our excursion, we will enjoy a scenic drive through this unique landscape, and will also pass the castles Lafite Rothschild, Latour and Mouton Rothschild, stopping at one to enjoy a wine tasting experience.
