    Amsterdam Evening Cruise
    Travel along the famous Post of Amsterdam with a relaxing canal tour. Discover the city's beautiful canal ring, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010. As well as being one of Amsterdam's most memorable historical sights, they also make an incredible way to discover this incredible city. Sit back, relax and admire this magnificent Dutch capital during our tour.

    Berlin by Night

    Join our optional guided walking tour of Potsdamer Platz by night. Following dinner, we’ll travel by coach to the vibrant city of Berlin, where we will discover this city’s many incredible sights from a different perspective. Take in the architectural prowess of Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, and many other famous architects, as well as seeing the headquarters of the DB, the Sony Centre, and the square’s impressive cinema complex.

    At night, this magnificent square comes to life, and we will be able to admire this futuristic area of Berlin.

    Berlin City Tour

    Making our way from Berlin Spandau, we’ll explore the German capital with our local guide to take in its many incredible sights. Our tour will give us insight into Berlin’s fascinating history, as well as admiring its monuments and seeing the many different sides to this famous city.

    Join us as we make our way along the Avenue of 17th June, leading to the famous Victory Column with the statue of Bismarck beside it. Then we will continue to the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, situated beneath its iconic glass dome. Our tour will continue to the Avenue Unter den Linden, and will then take us to Museum Island, where we’ll discover some of the city’s most famous museums.

    Discover the Pergamon Museum and the Altes Museum, housing the bust of Nefertiti. We’ll also admire Alexanderplatz, located behind Museum Island, and the famous TV Tower. After this, we will travel to Checkpoint Charlie, the former crossing between the Berlin’s Russian and American zones.

    Hanover City Tour

    We make our way to Hanover with our local guides to discover the capital of the Land of Lower Saxony. Since the 17th century, Hanover has played an important role in politics, with the son of Ernst-August of Hanover becoming George I, the Kind of Great Britain.

    Join us as we take in the Herrenhausen’s famous Baroque gardens, and then continue to the 18th-century New City Hall. Our guides will take us through Hanover’s history, as we admire four models showcasing the city in 1875, 1939, 1945 and today.

    Our tour will continue with a panoramic tour, seeing Niki de Saint Phalle's Nana statues on the banks of the Leine; the Maschsee, an artificial lake; the Opera House; the Grand Theatre; the ruins of the Aegidien Church, bombed during the war and where the Peace Bell now hangs, and much more besides.

    Stroll through the Old Town, discover the Market Church, and see the 15th-century Old City Hall and Leibniz's House. Following this, enjoy free time to explore the city at leisure, before we return to the ship. 

    Madurodam
    Located near The Hague, Madurodam park features Holland in miniature, allowing you to stroll past famous attractions at your own pace. With a range of 1:25 scale model replicas of Dutch landmarks, including historical cities and public works, Madurodam provides a realistic view of the Netherlands’ beauty. Even the ‘people’ created around these miniature works of art change clothes with the seasons, and Holland’s fauna and street decorations have also been recreated.

    Potsdam and the Gardens of the Sanssouci Palace

    Uncover the history of ancient Prussia on this excellent optional excursion, accompanied by expert guides. We will visit Potsdam, where we will be able to stroll through the magnificent gardens of Sanssouci Palace. The former summer residence of Frederick II (Frederick the Great), this fine palace was built between 1745 and 1747.

    After our time here, we’ll continue to Cecilienhof Castle, where we’ll enjoy a guided tour. This castle dates from 1914 and was built for the Crown Prince William, as requested by Emperor Wilhelm II. Named after the Crown Prince’s wife Cecilie, the castle is famous for hosting the Potsdam Conference in 1945.

    We will then make our way to Potsdam’s beautiful Dutch quarter, with free time to take in the sights here before we return to the ship.

    Tour of Bremen

    Explore this famous Hanseatic town on-foot, discovering its many wonderful attractions. Admire the historical market square, beautiful St Pierre Dom cathedral, and the magnificent city hall, with its Weser Renaissance style. We’ll then enjoy a guided walking tour of the Bottcherstrasse, the ‘secret street of Bremen’, known for its unusual architecture and narrow, picturesque streets. 

    Magdeburg
    Tour of Magdeburg

    Our tour of Magdeburg begins as we visit Magdeburg Cathedral, Germany’s first ever Gothic cathedral, where we will discover the tomb of Emperor Otto I the Great. Admire the cathedral’s incredible cloister, before we uncover the city’s many amazing sights.

    Magdeburg is located on the ‘Roman Road’ from Saxe-Anhalt and boasts many more religious buildings. These include the Cloister of Our Lady; Church of St Peter; Church of St John; St Madeleine’s Chapel and more.

    Our panoramic tour will continue to the Green Citadel, one of Magdeburg’s main sights. Created by Friedrich Hundertwasser, this iconic sight is actually pink, but gets its name from the lush greenery planted inside and atop the building. Onwards to the Market Square, take in the Magdeburg Horseman statue and the Town Hall, before seeing the monument commemorating Otto von Guericke.

    We will then enjoy some free time to explore at leisure, before returning to the ship. 

    Tour of Nienburg - the ‘Red Town’
    Join our guide as we visit Nienburg, the ‘Red Town’, with its beautiful Weser Renaissance architecture. We’ll discover the magnificent town hall, the Wasserburg (old castle) and St Martin’s Church. This stunning town is known for its cultivation of asparagus, and for its local cakes. 
    Tour of the naval shipyard of Meyer Werft
    Visit the major German shipyard of Meyer Werft with us, as we uncover the various stages of construction for a luxury ferry. Learn more about this fascinating process, and see for yourself how these iconic vessels are constructed. 
    Schloss Charlottenburg Palace, Berlin
    Visit to Charlottenburg Castle

    One of the Grand Electors of Brandenburg and the Kings of Prussia’s favourite summer residences, Charlottenburg Castle is known for its magnificent architecture.

    Join our tour of the Knobbelsdorf Wing, where we will find the private apartments of Frederic II. Discover the ‘white room’, the throne room and sovereign’s dining room, as well as the gilded gallery. This beautiful room features Rococo architecture and was used as a music and dancing room. 

    Volendam Harbour
    Volendam and Zaanse Schans

    Discover the village of Volendam, famous for its charming character, which has been kept alive for over six centuries by its fishermen. We’ll visit a local cheese factory to find out how delicious Gouda cheese is made, as well as sampling this well-known cheese for ourselves.

    After this, we’ll take in Zaanse Schans, an open air museum. Admire its many wooden windmills, brans and houses, and visit the impressive clog museum. Boasting one of the Netherlands’ largest and most attractive collections, we’ll find painted and carved clogs here, along with decorative clogs, ice clogs with iron trimmings, and horse clogs.

    Enjoy some free time to explore, before we return to the ship.
