    Admire incredible scenery and take in wonderful sights on our Grand Tourer holiday, staying in Amboise and Nimes. We travel to Amboise via Blois, before spending a day in Tours and visiting the magnificent Chenonceau Chateau. Then take in Sarlat, Albi and the famous Millau Bridge as we travel to Nimes, for free time in Provence and time in Avignon.

    En Route: Albi and Millau Bridge
    As we travel to our next destination, we make our way via the picturesque town of Albi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is built around an episcopal city. Admire the ancient red brick buildings this town is famous for, as well as taking in the imposing sight of the Cathedrale Sainte-Cecile. 

    We then continue our journey to Millau Bridge, the world’s tallest bridge, which is taller even than the Eiffel Tower. We will stop at the bridge to take in the marvellous views available from it, as well as enjoying time to take some pictures!
    Blois Chateau
    En Route: Blois
    We travel via stunning Blois, where much of the historical ambience of this picturesque medieval town remains preserved in its white-washed houses and narrow cobbled alleys.
    Sarlat
    En Route: Sarlat
    Take in the splendid sights of Sarlat, as we pay an en route visit to this this quaint town. Known for its medieval architecture and for Sarlat Cathedral, parts of which dates from the 9th century, admire the beautiful sights during our time here.
    Avignon old town
    Full Day: Avignon and Scenic Drive

    Today we visit the classic Roman city of Avignon, famous for its ancient town centre. Discover the magnificent medieval ramparts during our time here, as well as admiring the town’s marvellous attractions, which include the Palais des Papes, the cathedral, and the Pont d'Avignon, now all classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    After our time in Avignon, we enjoy a scenic drive back to our hotel, allowing us to take in the wonderful landscape this region is famous for. 

    Chenonceau Ch‰teau
    Full Day: Tours and Chenonceau Chateau
    We make our way to the wonderful city of Tours today, where we’ll enjoy time at leisure to discover this city’s many delights. There are lots of excellent sights here, including the elegant Gothic Tours Cathedral, the Place Jean Jaures, the Musee des Beaux-Arts de Tours and much more.

    After this, we’ll travel onwards to Chenonceau Chateau, one of the Loire Valley’s most well-known chateaus. This stunning chateau is famous for its Gothic and Renaissance architecture, and for its formal gardens. Enjoy time to discover the beautiful gardens, as well as admiring the chateau’s interior.

    Delve into a magnificent world of colour and light as we take in a wonderful show at Blois Chateau, with beautiful music and excellent lighting effects bringing this ancient castle to life. Discover the history of this fascinating chateau during our visit, and enjoy a memorable experience!
    Saintes Maries de la Mer in Camargue
    Full Day: Arles and the Camargue

    Join us as we explore the delights of Provence with a visit to historical Arles. This ancient Roman city is filled with fascinating sights, such as the remains of the Gallo-Roman theatre, the amphitheatre, the Alyscamps (Roman necropolis) and the Arles Obelisk. During our time here, we will also enjoy the opportunity to admire the stunning natural beauty of the Camargue.

    Palace of the Popes, Avignon
    Palais des Papes
    Avignon’s Palais des Papes is one of Europe’s largest and most important Gothic buildings, with this imposing fortress and palace once being the seat of Western Christianity throughout the 14th-century. 

    We discover this magnificent palace during our visit today, with time to admire the impressive facades, gates and intricate frescos at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
