    En Route: Lichen
On our journey to Warsaw, we call at the small village of Lichen Stary, which is home to the impressive and lavish basilica, whose huge golden dome is visible from a distance and whose belfry houses the largest bell in Poland.
    En Route: Modlin
Travelling from Warsaw, we call at the town of Modlin, where we can see Poland’s largest fortification complex. Set on the Vistula River, the original structure here was built on the order of Napolean Bonaparte in 1806, and later expanded by the Russians. The last defence of Modlin took place in 1939 against invasion from the Germans, where 1,700 Polish soldiers were killed and are commemorated today.
    Evening Chopin Concert

After dinner at a traditional restaurant in the city’s Old Town, we can relax and enjoy a small private concert, taking in the music of Chopin, who was born and grew up in Warsaw.

Full Day: Wilanow Palace and Uprising Museum
Stunning Wilanow Palace survived both World Wars, and is one of Poland's most important monuments, as well as a member of the international association of European Royal Residences. Discover this historic building, with its fascinating museum and enjoy a stroll in the royal gardens. We’ll go on to Warsaw’s Uprising Museum, dedicated to the uprising of 1944 and contains hundreds of artefacts, ranging from weapons used by the insurgents to love letters, in order to present a full picture of the people involved.
    Half Day: Poznan-Wolsztyn Railway

After World War II, steam power continued to be viable in Poland due to the low cost of operation and the fact that it did not require the electrification of the rails in order to run. With huge shipments needing to get from the industrial towns in southern Poland to the northern ports on the Baltic coast, steam was the answer and regular steam-hauled services ran across Poland. The steam depot in Wolsztyn still remains and thanks to dedicated volunteers, we are able to enjoy one of these  nostalgic journeys, as we travel between Wolsztyn and Poznan.

    Torun Boat Cruise
Relax and enjoy the scenery as we enjoy a short cruise along the River Vistula, which goes through this wonderful city.

    Half Day: Chopin Museum

The Polish composer and pianist Frederic Chopin was born and raised in Warsaw, and is most famous for his beautiful Romantic-era piano compositions. Chopin left Warsaw for Paris just one month before the November 1830 Uprising for the Polish–Russian War.

This is a must for fans of Chopin’s music, and those interested in learning more about his life.
