This is an excellent base for visiting the remote scenery of Scotland's far north and for an array of outdoor sporting activities. The hill-strewn moorland terrain, jewelled with lochs, has a wild charm of its own and is ideal for exploring Easter Ross and Ben Armine Forest.

    Full Day: Orkney Islands

    We’re off to the Orkney islands today, travelling up to John O’Groats for our sailing across to Burwick. Once on the main island, we enjoy a tour around the top sights and scenery, including the Churchill Barriers series of causeways, the natural harbour at Scapa Flow and the Brodgar Standing Stones, a Neolithic henge and UNESCO World Heritage Site. We end our trip in pretty Kirkwall, the island’s ‘capital’, before our return crossing and journey back to Dornoch.

    Join us as we make our way to coastal Ullapool on the scenic shores of Loch Broom, before travelling back to Dornoch across the heart of the Highlands, passing through the quaint town of Dingwall along the way.

    Half Day: Portmahomack

    Enjoy a jaunt across the Dornoch Firth and through hidden villages to Portmahomack, with its picture postcard harbour and stunning views.
