    Best known of all the resorts on the Costa Brava, Lloret de Mar has remained popular with British holidaymakers. Its long sandy beach, which gently slopes into the clear sea, makes this pretty resort ideal for a relaxing holiday, and we’re sure to have a splendid Christmas and New Year break in this sunny destination. 

    We’ll be staying at the Hotel Helios during our holiday, and will have three included excursions to look forward to, as well as exciting Christmas celebrations at our hotel. On Christmas Day, we’ll have a fantastic gala dinner to enjoy, where we can toast this special day with our new friends and make the most of our great Christmas break. 

    Our included excursions will begin with a trip to Catalonia’s most famous city - Barcelona. Explore at leisure to discover this city’s incredible sights, from the magnificent Sagrada Familia to the well-known Las Ramblas boulevard, perfect for picking up some last-minute gifts for friends and family at home. 

    The next day, we’ll get to sit back and relax as we take a scenic drive along the rugged Costa Brava coastline. Take in the awe-inspiring views, and make sure you remember to bring your camera! 

    After this, we’ll have an included trip to discover the city of Banyoles and the town of Besalu, two superb Catalan destinations. In Banyoles, we’ll find the beautiful Lake of Banyoles, while Besalu is most famous for its medieval architecture, such as its 12th-century Romanesque bridge.

    Full Day: Banyoles and Besalu

    We’ll discover two excellent Catalan destinations today, beginning with Banyoles. This city is most famous for the Lake of Banyoles, a beautiful natural lake that hosted the 1992 rowing events in the Bar. It was the venue for the rowing events in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. After our time in Banyoles, we’ll make our way to Besalu, a historical national property since 1966. Here, we’ll find amazing medieval cobbled streets and facades, as well as the well-known 12th-century Romanesque bridge over the Fluvia river.

    Full Day: Barcelona

    The Catalan capital, Barcelona is a fantastic city to explore at leisure, with its wonderful architecture and bustling atmosphere. Admire Antoni Gaudi’s incredible Modernist creations, including the as-yet-unfinished Sagrada Familia, and spend time shopping along the famous Las Ramblas boulevard.

    This mesmerising city is known for its excellent attractions as much for its delicious cuisine, so be sure to sample some of the local food during our time here!

    Mediterranean Coast - Tossa de Mar
    Half Day: Scenic Coastal Drive

    Discover the captivating Costa Brava during our relaxing scenic drive today, simply sit back and take in the incredible scenery of this wonderful part of the world. We’ll make our way along the coastline to explore the rugged Costa Brava seafront, known for its wild appearance. Enjoy the stunning views out to the Crystal Sea, and admire the picturesque fishing villages and traditional towns we’ll make our way through during our drive.

    Banyoles Boat Trip
    We'll take a relaxing boat trip while we're in Banyoles, in order to further discover this beautiful destination from the scenic Lake of Banyoles. Admire the stunning scenery while we learn more about this interesting lake. 
    Banyoles Train
    Banyoles is an amazing place to visit, with its picturesque scenery and the famous Lake of Banyoles. We’ll get to see more of this excellent city with a train ride, allowing us to sit back and relax during our excursion.
    Barcelona
    Full Day: Barcelona Guided City Tour

    Discover some of Barcelona’s very best attractions and landmarks during our exciting guided city tour, so you can see more of this incredible city. Our experienced guide will take us through the city, so we can learn more about the Catalonian capital’s interesting history while admiring its beautiful sights. From Gaudi’s famous architecture to the city’s bustling shopping districts and historical attractions, we’ll get to explore further with our guided tour. 

    Gerona
    Full Day: Girona and Cadaques

    The old town of Girona is one of the most evocative historical centres in Catalonia, with certain elements that are unique to Europe. For example, the Carolingian Wall and the grandeur of the Cathedral's gothic nave are two splendid sights in this wonderful destination. We continue to the small fishing town of Cadaques after our time in Girona. This little town could only be visited by boat in its early years, and with its crystal-clear waters, Cadaques is a stunning sight. It sits right on the edge of the Cap de Creus Peninsula, where the Pyrenees Mountains meet the sea.

    Monastery on Montserrat, Spain
    Full Day: Montserrat

    Montserrat Monastery, a Benedictine abbey, is located on the mountain of Montserrat and is Catalonia's most important religious retreat. The Basilica houses a museum with works of art by prominent painters and sculptors, including works by El Greco, Dali, Picasso and many others.

    Aside from being a significant religious location, it’s also a beautiful destination, with astonishingly detailed interiors and incredible views out over the surrounding landscape.
