Considered as one of the finest jewels in Germany’s crown, this city is one of the the country's most popular destinations. Located on the banks of the Neckar River, Heidelberg is home to the oldest university in Germany, which dates back to 1386 and has over 28,000 students.

Admire Heidelberg’s historical city centre and the Hauptstrasse (main street), approximately one mile in length, and is reputedly the longest pedestrian shopping street in Germany. Discover the city’s fantastic sights, such as the Old Town, featuring beautiful German architecture. It will then be time to take in Heidelberg’s main attraction - its stunning castle, perched on the hillside overlooking the city.

The castle has a history almost as old as the city itself, with the first parts of the castle being constructed around 1300.
