    Wurzburg
    Discover Wurzburg

Join us for a guided tour of this wonderful city. Wurzburg is the capital of Lower Franconia and is one of the loveliest Baroque cities in Germany, famous for being the centre of Franconian wine production. Wurzburg’s attractions are countless - it’s hard to believe that 90 per cent of the city was devastated in an air raid lasting 20 minutes on the 2nd of March 1945. In a miraculous rebuilding programme, nearly every major structure has been restored.

One of Wurzburg’s famous landmarks is the mighty fortress, Festung Marienberg, which sits on the hillside overlooking the city. We will explore the Old Town on foot, seeing the market square, the late-Gothic Church of St. Mary, and, next to it, the Falkenhaus with its beautiful Rococo facade. Another highlight is the four-towered Wurzburg Cathedral of St.Kilian, one of the largest Romanesque churches in Germany.

    Nuremberg
    Nuremberg Guided Panoramic Tour

A city fit for a king; don’t miss this opportunity to discover the undeclared capital of the Holy Roman Empire, where the beer is as dark as the coffee. The cityscape of Nuremberg, Bavaria’s second largest city, is dominated by the stunning castle, a mighty fortress built in 1140.

Of course, Nuremberg is known for the German activities that took place here before and during the Second World War, and our guided city tour will touch on this important part of the city’s history.

Our tour will take in the Nuremberg’s many highlights, so we can uncover the beautiful architecture and fascinating sights this city is so famous for.

    OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS

    Bamberg Little Venice
    Bamberg ‘Little Venice’

Bamberg is a beautiful city located in Upper Franconia on the river Regnitz, close to its confluence with the Main River. The city of Bamberg prides itself with being on seven hills, as it symbolises similarity to Rome. The hills are Cathedral Hill, Michaelsberg, Kaulberg/Obere Pfarre, Stefansberg, Jakobsberg, Altenburger Hill and Abtsberg.

The Old Town of Bamberg is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage, primarily for of its authentic medieval appearance. During our walking tour there is the chance to see The Dom, which contains the intriguing Bamberg Rider sculpture - no one knows for sure who the young royal rider is! The Altes Rathaus is perched in the middle of a bridge and is an amazing sight. Other sights to take in include the Regnitz River, the Cathedral (dating from 1237), with the tombs of emperor Henry II and Pope Clement II; Alte Hofhaltung, residence of the bishops in the 16th and 17th centuries; Neue Residenz, residence of the bishops after the 17th century; the Old Town Hall (dating from 1386), built in the middle of the Regnitz River and accessible by two bridges.

We also see Klein-Venedig (‘Little Venice’), a colony of picturesque fishermen's houses from the 19th century along one side of the Regnitz River.

    Explore Kitzingen
Bavaria’s largest wine producer, Kitzingen is famous for its vineyards and fascinating heritage, and our excursion today will allow us to discover into its many sights. Admire the town’s beautiful architecture during our tour, and learn about its interesting myths and legends.

For instance, legend has it that the Crooked Tower (Falterturm) in the town centre was constructed during a drought. Without access to any water, the builders used wine when mixing the mortar, causing the top of the tower to lean the way it does. As well as this, it’s said that the golden ball atop the tower contains the heart of Dracula, and that if you follow the Crooked Tower’s path it leads to Kitzingen’s old cemetery, where the grave of Dracula can be found.
    Passau
    Explore Passau

Join us on our guided walking tour of Passau. Situated at the confluence of the rivers Danube, Inn, and Ilz, Passau is known worldwide as the ‘Three Rivers City’. The Old Town of Passau was rebuilt in the 17th century by Italian Baroque masters after a devastating town fire. In the heart of Passau rises the Passauer Stephansdom (Cathedral of St Steven’s) with its three characteristic, green onion-domed towers.

In the Old Town, there are many beautiful churches, the New Bishop’s Residence and the magnificent Gothic Town Hall to discover. The fortress ‘Veste Oberhaus’ lies to the north of Passau’s Old Town, with the Pilgrimage Church ‘Mariahilf’ lying to the south.

    Regensburg

Take a stroll through the old quarter with us and see some of the 1,500 listed buildings to be found here. The stone bridge, cathedral and Krauterermarkt are amongst the city’s significant architectural monuments, and the enchanting medieval architecture throughout Regensburg is sure to make you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time.

After our time exploring the city, we’ll visit Regensburg’s famous Historic Sausage Kitchen, thought to be the oldest restaurant in the world to be continuously open. Sample some of Regensburg’s delicious Bavarian sausages and soak up the atmosphere here.

    Nuremberg
    Nuremberg Castle Tour

Nuremberg is overlooked by its Imperial Castle, which dominates the north-western corner of the city’s Old Town. In the Middle Ages, the castle was one of the most important imperial castles of the Holy Roman Empire.

The oldest part of Nuremberg Castle is its five-cornered tower, which was constructed before 1050. In the east of the castle, we’ll discover the entrance to the castle gardens and the castle gate. Through this gate you can enjoy one of the best views of the Old Town, and if you want to look further afield you can climb the round tower (Sinwellturm) in the first court of the castle.
