    Weissensee
In the south-west of Carinthia, in the fog-free, sun-drenched high valley of Weissensee, at an altitude of 930 metres, lies the purest bathing lake of the Alps. The crystal-clear waters of this unique fjordlike lake reach a temperature of up to 24 degrees Celsius. The vast part of the lakeshore remains untouched by tourism development and motorboats are forbidden on the lake.

    Klagenfurt
The compact city of Klagenfurt, capital of Carinthia, has beautiful renaissance and baroque buildings which create an elegant feel to the streets and squares. According to legend, the Lindwurm, a kind of dragon, which haunted the area, was killed by local villagers allowing for the settlement of the city. Today the Lindwurm monument is Klagenfurt's most identifiable landmark.

    Woerthersee
Lake Woerthersee, also known as the Austrian Riviera, stretches from the Carinthian capital Klagenfurt in the east to Velden in the west. It is flanked to the north and south by steep alpine foothills covered with dense forests, beyond which are views of snow-capped alpine peaks. The lake's water is a distinctive blue-green colour and it is a popular water sports destination.

    Bled
Idyllically set on the shores of Lake Bled, in the extreme north-western part of Slovenia, at the foot of the Julian Alps, Bled is surrounded by gorges, waterfalls and mountains peaks. Renowned as one of the 'Pearls of Slovenia', Bled is watched over by a cliff top castle and boasts a picture postcard island church.

    Ossiachersee
    Gurk & Ossiachersee
No visit to Carinthia would be complete without a trip to the market towns of Gurk and Ossaichersee.

In the green valleys of southern Austria lies the small market town of Gurk, nestled in the stunning Gurk River Valley and surrounded by Alpine meadows and vast forests. As we discover this pretty town, the main highlight is the Shrine of Hemma, a 12th-century cathedral that was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and the important ‘Gurker Fastentuch’, a painted cloth from 1458 which is located inside.

We conclude our journey with a visit to Ossiach, the main town on the southern shores of Ossiachersee. Discover the highlights of Ossaich, which include its magnificent Baroque church, the Harp Fountain, and the tombstone of King Boleslav.

This village hosts the annual Carinthian Summer festival, with opera stars and international orchestras from around the world visiting.
    Dragon Statue, Klagenfurt
    Klagenfurt guided city tour
Join us as we discover the historical town of Klagenfurt, capital of Carinthia in Austria’s most southerly province.

Explore magnificent Renaissance buildings in the 800 year old city centre, which was mostly created by famous Italian master architects.

In gentle shades of sand, lemon, soft pink and pale green, the picturesque colour-washed Baroque and Renaissance facades give an elegant feel to the streets and squares in Klagenfurt. Over 50 arcaded courtyards lie tucked away behind the fine buildings, with some of the best found in the old town around the Alter Platz.

In the company of our expert guide, we’ll discover the most beautiful courtyards, monuments and historical buildings, including the St Egyd Church, the City Arkadenand, the Landhaus, and so much more.
    Gmunden
    Maltatal & Gmund
Natural beauty, Alpine landscapes and hidden gems await as we discover the Malta Valley and the medieval town of Gmund.

The Malta Valley, nestled within the Hohe Tauern National Park, boasts a large number of waterfalls, including the highest single drop in Carinthia. There’s also the highest dam and reservoir in Austria, a lovely little river and quiet forests. Watch the local ice climbers and unwind in the breath-taking scenery.

Our tour includes a visit to the small town of Gmund, hidden in the southern province of Carinthia on the edge of Hohe Tauern and Nockberge national parks. Explore the diverse heritage of the town, visiting the Hauptplatz, the main square, the pretty houses, and the Karner, which is decorated in 15th-century frescoes. You’ll soon discover why Gmund is known as the 'artist’s city'!
    Weissensee
    Weissensee boat cruise
Sit back, relax and breathe in the fresh mountain air as we enjoy a leisurely cruise from Dolomitenblick, taking in the stunning scenery on our way.
In the region of the Gailtal Alps, between the Drau and the Gailtal, lies Lake Weissensee - the fourth largest lake in Carinthia. At 930 metres above sea level, the lake is almost 12km long, nearly 1km wide and has a maximum depth of 99 metres.

The name of the Weissensee, 'White Lake', comes from the white border that surrounds it. Ever since the 11th century a wooden bridge has connected the northern and southern shore, it was only in 1968 that the old wooden bridge was replaced by the current concrete bridge.

This area is full of wildlife, with many different types of birds and fish - see if you can spot some of the rarer varieties during our cruise!
    Lake Woerthersee
    Woerthersee boat cruise
Enjoy a scenic cruise taking in the views along Lake Woerthersee with us as we enjoy a relaxing boat cruise.

We board the boat in Klagenfurt and set sail along the northern shore over the most beautiful part of the lake. During our scenic cruise, we’ll pass Krumpendorf, Reifnitz and the romantic village of Maria Worth, famous for its pilgrim church, agricultural traditions, and popular health and well-being attractions.

Our journey continues towards the towns of Portschach and Pritschitz, where we’ll discover delightful villas and stylish lakeside houses. These towns are famous for being popular with the painter Gustav Mahler and the composer Johannes Brahms, and they often visited the towns.

Our cruise will conclude as we arrive in the market town of Velden, one of the most popular destinations on Worthersee lake.
