    For a superb seaside break, you really can’t get any better than a jaunt to the Isle of Wight, although this incredible island is now also known for much more than its beautiful beaches. Holidays to the Isle of Wight are all about ice cream, sunshine and its many interesting museums and other attractions. 

    The island is famous for its notable residents, which have included Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, Charles Dickens, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and many other well-known faces.

    The Isle of Wight’s brilliant beaches are a must-visit, and with 57 miles of coastline to choose from you’ll never be short of a fantastic spot! The island has 17 Blue Flag beaches, and its most notable beaches include Shanklin, Sandown, Ventnor, Ryde and Appley. 

    The scenery here is without a doubt some of the best to be found in England, with the island’s famous cliffs and stunning landscape, as well as its diverse wildlife.

    As well as its dramatic coastlines, you’ll find lots of Isle of Wight attractions in the islands bustling towns. There’s the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and the Cowes Maritime Museum, Carisbrooke Castle, Ventnor Botanic Garden and Shanklin Chine, a beautiful gorge with grand waterfalls. 

    Osborne House, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s holiday residence, should also definitely be visited, and Carisbrooke Castle and Yarmouth Castle are both incredibly interesting, too.
