Good Hotel and food, great excursions and brilliant Driver.
Booking the Holiday was a doddle. Nothing complex. Bought my own insurance as it was cheaper. Paid for front seats which was great (slightly less legroom but you get the best view of the road ahead).Shearing's feeder service is faultless and we got to the Hythe swapover in good time. Sat and relaxed whilst cases swapped.Got on to our Grand Explorer with driver Steve and headed off to Italy with an overnight stop in the newly refurbished Tip Top Hotel in Reims. The Hotel Britannia was good though we would have liked better wifi (limited to a couple of public areas and patchy signal,.We found the food was good with plenty of choice and different evening meals, though the English Breakfast was poor ,but you can have one of those back home anytime,.Entertainment was also poor with a synth/organ playing singer which got monotonous. However, the best entertainment was Steve, the driver. A humourous man with a mountain of knowledge and the best driving I have seen - considerate to other road users, smooth and careful.Steve was always busy, loading/off loading luggage, cleaning the coach, making drinks and sorting out passengers queries. He always greeted you with a smile, usually a litte joke. Basically he made a great holiday unforgettable. The trips on this holiday were fantastic and you really must go on the Bernina Express. This was the highlight, though all of the optional trips are great value.Stopped on the way home at the ,also) newly refurbished Ibis Hotel in Reims. Best Room and best evening meal of the holiday. We would definitely go again and we would recommend it to anyone. I would also rather go via Chunnel and would pay extra to do so as ferries are slow and sea travel doesn't suit us.
