However the entertainment could of been better. The excursions were as good as they were described a holiday i would highly go on again. :)

lovely holiday shame about the hotel

We went on the all inclusive deal flying from Manchester which I recommend as you start your holiday fresh and its worth the extra. When we saw Lake Coma for the first time we where spell bound its truly breath taking, like a fairytale!40 miles of glorious lake surrounded by pretty villages and small towns - an all day ferry ticket is a must to explore.Weather was a glorious 32 to 35 degrees while we where there, fabulous.Hotel has a outstanding location but you are left to struggle with your cases - no porter service which is a disgrace for a hotel of this size.plus we heard stories of staff refusing to bring some cases down to the feeder coach on the day of departure. Our room was a shock,it was so tiny with a double bed and a even tinier bathroom with a shower for a very skinny person - would recommend an up grade and you could be lucky enough to get a balcony. We stored our suitcase on top of the wardrobe getting showered with thick dust and under the bed there was also thick dust. The Restaurant is in dire need of a good manager,as its CHAOS its a free for all trying to find a table - so a better system is in dire need here and must be a nightmare for the lone traveller as you leave your table free at your peril.Food though plentiful is often luke warm and very bland and again chaos with everything jumbled all over the place so you are constantly bumping into people carrying food.I would recommend the ice cream it is lovely!Breakfast is awful with bread rolls so hard you have visions of leaving your teeth behind, tea is undrinkable and coffee dire and the orange juice is horrible cloudy sweet water. Packed lunches are dreadful two stale hard rolls with soapy thin cheese and plastic ham with water and with ghastly. croissants. My husband says not to make comments but we have paid for this rubbish.Bar - you have to queue up like Oliver Twist for drinks you have PAID FOR! These queues can be up to 40 people long with only one girl serving while the rest of the bar staff fool about talking and shouting to each other! A good Bar manager is badly needed here to stop this and make this area more efficient. Staff behaving like this in the UK would be sacked on the spot. The atmosphere in this bar, is that of a morgue resembling a waiting room for the grim reaper with some talentless person trying to wake the dead playing on a keyboard,Thank God for the oddly opening hours of the open air Lido bar which did have decent live music and a good atmosphere.Excursions be ready at the door for 8am for a tiring day stuck in a coach, Switzerland ok, nice to say you've been but too expensive to do anything but window shop and St Moritz is not worth the effort. Milan beautiful but again too expensive our tip buy an all day ticket for the ferries and see the beautiful lakeside villages and go to visit the lovely lakeside Villas. We would we go back as this hotel has a glorious position.and feel with some money spent and good management it could be excellent. Top Tip pay for an up graded room and avoid the packed lunches

Most enjoyable holiday; excellent value

My wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed this holiday in 2011 and as a result returned for the same holiday this Spring. We had Coach Driver Steve on both occasions and he contributed a great deal to our enjoyment with his knowledge and safe driving. Hotel lakeside location fantastic; we found it worthwhile to pay a little extra for a better room. Excursions very good and the all inclusive bar was a bonus!

Hotel great. Transfers not satisfactory

The location is lovely. The hotel staff, food, accommodation and facilities were very good indeed. The transfers to and from the hotel and airport were very poor. Sat in coach at airport for over 2 hours waiting for other flights - suggest minibus be used. But not the one which was used from hotel to airport - old and ramshakle, no air conditioning, driver irresponsibly on mobile phone when driving at speed and at time both hands off the wheel as he dialled numbers. An unsatisfactory beginning and end to an excellent holiday!

very enjoyable

Lovely holiday, good hotel and food. Coach driver Steve Lynch was excellent. Very good driver and very knowledgable of the area. Would recommend the Bernina Express trip. Lovely weather, plenty of sunshine, even had some snow as we left the St. Gottard pass.Lake Como is beautiful! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Super holiday, excellent value

The location of this hotel on Lake Como cannot be bettered. On the lake shore and close to ferry terminal where purchase of "rover" day ticket gives freedom to explore. The welcome and efficiency of the reception staff given to my party after a long journey was excellent. We found the hotel comfortable, dining room very busy but we liked the "buzz" and we found the packed lunches adequate for our picnics. The all inclusive bar was a bonus and enjoyed by all! Recommend the Bernina Express day trip. Will we return -------yes.

The holiday was very enjoyable.

The hotel was very clean but the funiture in the lounges could have been cleaner. My only complaint was that the tea making facilities were a long way from our room and was not available early enough. It would have been helpful to have been advised that there were no hospitality trays so that we could make our own arrangements. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. It should be pointed out to future travellers that credit cards are not accepted in many places and it is better to take the Euros with you. The food was excellent and there was plenty of choice.

Excursions not to be missed

Definitely would recommend this holiday. Well worth theextra to upgrade to lake view with balcony. Staff friendly andefficient. Plenty of choice at mealtimes. Enjoyed the excursions but the one not to be missed is the trip to San Moriitz and the train journey on the Bernine Express - just magical.
