Majestic hills, rushing streams, green meadows, colourful thatch-roofed farmhouses, tumbling waterfalls and fantastic views of steep ravines and valleys make the Black Forest a truly idyllic place. Our holiday is based in the Black Forest town of Bräunlingen.

Included Excursions

Lake Constance and Mainau: Lake Constance, also known as the Bodensee, enjoys a mild climate and plentiful sunshine. The hillsides that slope to the water’s edge are covered with vineyards and orchards, the shores of the lake being shared by Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Our day on the lake includes a visit to the medieval town of Konstanz, once the most important city on the lake due to its strategic position. We also experience the island of Mainau, an exotic, scented floral isle renowned for its rich soil.

Black Forest Tour: Our scenic Black Forest tour features the popular lakeside holiday resort of Titisee and the charming town of Furtwangen. We also visit the health resort of Triberg, home of the Schwarzwald Museum and a centre for the production of the famous Black Forest cuckoo clock.

South Black Forest Tour: Experience the region of the South Black Forest. Over 200km long and 50km wide the Black Forest is not only one of the most varied but also one of the biggest and best known regions of Germany. Enjoy this leisurley scenic tour, with visits to some of the beautiful towns located within the south region.

Rottweil & Donaueschingen: Rottweil is the oldest town in south-west Germany with a colourful past and a medieval town centre. The appearance of this town has changed very little since the 16th century and on arrival it gives a feel of stepping back in time. We continue our journey to the town of Donaueschingen, set at the point where the Danube originates and in the idyllic surroundings of the Black Forest.

Day 1: UK to Northern France

To Calais and on to Northern France for dinner and an overnight stay. (D)

Day 2: Northern France to Bräunlingen

We travel through France to the Black Forest, arriving in Bräunlingen in time for dinner. (B,D)

Days 3 to 7: Bräunlingen

At leisure in the beautiful Black Forest with our programme of included and optional excursions. Bräunlingen is a traditional Black Forest town with a picturesque centre and a selection of shops, bars and cafés. (B,D)

Day 8: Bräunlingen to Northern France

We depart for Northern France for dinner and overnight stay. (B,D)

Day 9: Northern France to UK

To Calais, Dover and then home. (B)
