Well worth a visit

This was a great holiday and with an excellent family run hotel. Rooms are very clean & spacious, friendly staff & with very good food. The village is lovely & the guided walk with a member of staff was very interesting. All excursions were good & the gardens are well worth a visit.A big thank you to our driver David who made the holiday and had excellent knowledge of the area.

Wonderful holiday in every way

My husband and I visited here for 6 nights at the beginning of June. Braunlingen is delightful - very quiet with just a few cafes, bakeries and the church. We took a walk every evening just because it was so nice to see the different architecture and take in the general atmosphere. The hotel is very central. We slept in the annex, which was literally 30 seconds across the road. The dining room decor is lovely with German murals and the food top class with a good choice. Drinks are not a rip off price either. I usually had a small jug of wine each evening and my husband a fair sized beer and that cost about £4.80p approx. The staff are lovely, There is a small drinks terrace upstairs at the back but no real garden as such except a few chairs at the front. Free use of the Internet is appreciated if people do not have that on their phones like us - the connection is very slow, but hey, what does that matter if you are on holiday and it is free?! The bakeries are open from about 6.30-7am and sell wonderful filled rolls for such a reasonable price. The nearest one also has a supermarket part to buy extra bits you might need. Oh, there is a lovely fund raising shop next door to the annex to support special needs folk of the town. This sells goods the people have made, lots of crafty stuff. Make lovely gifts. The stop over hotel (Altia, near Lille ) was very good; clean and nice food and rooms. The driver was superb in every every way; smart apprearance, top rate driving skills and very helpful in general. The whole holiday was blessed with great weather. Look forward to many more Shearings holidays to come - in Europe and Britain . They are simply the best and we do not feel we want to use any other company. The coaches are wonderful too.

Highly Recommende

We would definitely recommend this holiday. The coach driver was very friendly and helpful and provided plenty of comfort stops . The overnight hotel in France was very good and the meal, although exactly the same menu for the outward in home journey, was totally acceptable. The Hotel Lindenhof is family run, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and efficient. They were always more than happy to provide information about the village and surrounding area. Breakfast was the usual continental fare, with lots of fresh fruit and lovely local breads. There was a choice of menu for the evening meal main course and the food was plentiful and appetising.Drinks in the hotel and other local bars were very reasonably priced (we took the same amount of Euros as for France last year but only spent about two thirds).Braunlingen is a lovely little village, with lots of pathways through the forests to other villages. Bakeries open at 6 a.m., so you can buy a picnic lunch and then just walk. The included trips were good, Lake Constance is nice but Mainau is lovely, especially if gardening is your thing. The Black Forest Tour was fantastic, we visited some nice little villages, breathtaking views with a few scary hairpin bends. Dave, the driver, was very knowledgeable about the area and really did make the day enjoyable (although be warned - his jokes are dire). As we wanted some days off the coach, the only optional excursion we did was the Blumberg railway, which personally we found a little disappointing but others on the trip did enjoy it very much.Overall, a wonderful holiday with fantastic weather and good company.
