Good Weekend Break

We stayed the weekend of March 21st. really nice hotel. Room 302 was a bit cold overlooking the car park. Everywhere very clean. All staff happy to help or chat. Evening meals not too good. Soggy veg and you could have snapped the fish in half it was so overcooked! But the help yourself breakfast was very good. Hot food and plates and everything replenished. Good waiting on staff. Rosie was lovely. Central for everywhere to visit. Good idea to pay for a parking space. Will go again. The pool was good too.

Brill Weekend

We were on a Self-Drive Weekend Break, which suits. A lovely Hotel and fantastic staff wanting to please. Loved the buffet breakfast a lovely relaxed atmosphere and no rush. Visited the surrounding areas and the sun came out for us. Ideal location and if we wanted a bus it was just outside the hotel, what could be more convenient. Thank you all at The St George we will be back.

Handy for town

Just come back from a Fri/Sat self-drive break. On the whole, a great stay. Staff were very helpful, room was spacious. The hotel is well situated for walking into town. Meals were tasty. My only gripe is that evening meal at weekend doesn't start until 6.30 pm. Weekdays it starts at 6.00 pm. On the Friday we were going to the theatre and on the Saturday a dance, both of which started at 7.30 pm which meant bolting down the meal, missing coffee and rushing to the venues with minutes to spare.

Nice Hotel. Shame about trips

Had a lovely weekend break to celebrate a milestone birthday. Have done this trip previously and enjoyed it. The Staff at Hotel were welcoming and helpful. Our problems, however, were associated with a grumpy driver, a lack of a trip to Skipton Market (which we enjoyed on our last trip here), and a trip to York Designer Outlet on the last day (York twice in a weekend is quite enough. The fact that 8 people went home on the train shows the lack of variety in this trip.)

Brilliant Break

This was my first visit to the St George with Shearings. What a lovely hotel and had a fantastic holiday. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food excellent. Room 233 which overlooked the car park was a good sized single room and was spotlessly clean. The only reason I have given a 4 star rating is the fact that there was no separate shower and I am not too happy about climbing into a bath to shower. I am planning a return visit in the summer to see Harrogate in Bloom.

Happy Harogate

First visit to this Hotel but our 7th Shearings trip. Hotel is very central and parking was available on site - best to book beforehand. Staff were all helpful and friendly, and good service in the Restaurant. No entertainment here but plenty of places to wander of an evening. There was a Spiegletent Marquee with bands/singers etc, further along the gardens but noise didn't seem to be a problem. Some guests complained of traffic noise but we were not affected. Good Hotel, would return and recommend.

Enjoyable short break

Very pleasant hotel, great food and excellent service. This was definitely one of the best Shearings hotels we have stayed in. Hotel is in a great location near to the shops and other amenities. All the staff were most helpful, a well run hotel.

Lovaly Midweek Break

We have just returned home from a wonderful break at this hotel. The food and the service in the restaurant was lovely and really good value. We will definitely return in the future. We think it would be of help to guests if there were signs on the corridors indicating where the stairs are (especially on the third floor were they don't line up with the other flights. The gym and pool looked lovely too but we fortunate enough to get good weather so didn’t get to try them out.

Our first stay at the St George was wonderful. The staff were friendly, the bedroom was clean and nicely decorated. The dining room was bright and airy and the lounges very comfortable. The food was excellent. All together a super break. Our first but certainly not our last visit to the St George.

Superb Weekend Break

Just returned from a 3-night break and delighted to report that we had a lovely time. The hotel is in a great position - shame there isn't much parking which is the only downside but can't be helped due to its central location-all the staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. The bed was so comfortable and public areas very well decorated and furnished. We also enjoyed the indoor pool. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return.

Absolutely Excellent

Had a wonderful time here, staff were very friendly, particularly the restaurant manager and the barman. Food excellent. The only downside to my stay was the fact that it was so hot outside that it made the room very hot and stuffy even with the window open, but the very helpful receptionist spoke to the duty manager who managed to get me a fan from the bar. All said and done it was absolutely fabulous and nothing was a problem. Hopefully will return later in the year.

Wonderful Break

We booked a short stay in Harrogate staying at the St. George the reception and dining areas were decorated to a very high standard, the bedrooms was modern and very clean. The food and staff were excellent. The day trips were brilliant visiting York, Weatherby, Grassington, Petley Bridge & Skipton all in 5 days! Beautiful scenery at this time of year. What value for money, so impressed we have booked another trip next month!!

Relaing Break

Just back from a three night stay at the St George and I'd like just like to thank all concerned for a wonderful weekend, the staff were brilliant and the food was first class. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, the secondary double glazing certainly helped with the traffic noise and late night revellers. Well done, keep it up as we are looking to go back in September.
