Value for money

There were 10 in our party and were catered for in the dining room well, I enjoyed the food, and the staff from reception, bar, restaurant, cleaners were all friendly, The entertainment was excellent. The driver Ian was very good, knowledgeable, and friendly and clear with arrangements. Good value for the money, the only downside was a mix up about 2 passengers and needing to stay at the services for 2hrs, and lack of decent trips out.

Good winter break

Just back from a last minute break to the Norbreck hotel. Seen the hotel many times but never stayed before. First impressions good, nice lounge area, dining room good. First floor onwards rather tired. We stayed on third floor, the room warm and cosy but in need of updating, the TV was so old and could only receive 5 channels (come on Norbreck we are in the digital age) our driver Kevin was very knowledgeable as was Roger who took us to Goathland. Entertainment was great. Good time had all round.

What s shame!

Just stayed at the Norbreck. Room OK, though the upgrade did not justify the £40 paid for 3 nights. Yes there was a sea view when we cleared the condensation off window. Staff friendly. Entertainment good. But the food was terrible!! There was plenty of choice, but everything was at best lukewarm and often cold. A waste of what could have been good food. Also the staff in the dining room were lovely but rushed off their feet. The hotel itself is very tired looking and in need of a facelift.

Brithday Break

I have just spent my birthday at the Norbreck Hotel at Scarborough, and it was one of the best breaks I have been on. The staff in the dining room were lovely, very efficient, polite, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and varied and piping hot when served to you. The views from the hotel were breathtaking and the trips and optional excursion was excellent. The entertainment was good indeed and I would strongly recommend anyone to try this hotel for excellent value for money Thank You

Fantastic Break

Just spent a long weekend here with friends and family and we all had a fantastic time. Very helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms but mum stayed in a single room and the bed was far too small, she hit the wall or the light switch when turning over. Good food which was well presented but meal times could be a little more flexible. Bar prices quite reasonable for a hotel and good entertainment on the Friday and Saturday nights. Yes some parts of the hotel are tired but still very good

Norbreck Hotel, Scarbrough

We read some of the bad reviews, and was quite worried. But we had a lovely stay at the Norbreck Hotel in Scarborough. Our room was clean, the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was quite big. Food was great, and staff at the hotel, we found helpful, friendly, and always cheerful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Never Again

I have just read some of the reviews posted, it must be a different hotel to the one we stayed in, I gave it one star because that was the lowest available on the form I wouldn't rate it at all, the smoke alarm in our room was covered with a plastic bag and taped up, there was no hot water at all, no heating, whilst trying to sleep, the bed was creaking in time with our breathing ,the food was terrible, the windows were ringing with condensation, I'm running out of space now, but we left at 6am next day

All the family just spent the weekend at the Norbreck celebrating one of my wife’s big birthdays, there was eighteen of us ages 19 to 68 what a cracking weekend, the entertainment, from Daniel, Chris Fields, and the singer on Friday evening, was spot on, many thanks to Karen and Emma, on reception for all their help, Adrian for putting up with us all and the dining room staff for their politeness and efficiency and the kitchen and housekeeping staff for a very comfortable stay. 5 star all the staff.

Great time even in freezing Scarborough

Just got back from our 5 day trip to freezing cold Scarborough!! Nothing freezing about our hotel though, it did drop cold in the night but it was about -8 outside, extra blankets were provided in case you needed them. First of all a great thank you to out drivers on the trip, especially Kevin for his and 2 other drivers leaving Whitby on a very snowy Thursday afternoon, for their very safe driving on snowy roads. The hotel was clean and bright, the staff were great, very polite, and very helpful, the rooms were spotless, in need of redecorating, but not a problem as it was only a little bit of wallpaper that wanted sticking down. The water was piping hot and the bathrooms had been refurbished with what looked like new equipment, lovely white towels etc. The food choice was excellent, could do with a few of the recipes myself, the staff in the dining room were very efficient and polite. The evening entertainment was also excellent, ALL were very good, and everyone enjoyed the shows that were put on. Another great time with Shearings, many thanks...

Norbreck Hotel

I had a lovely weekend at the Norbreck at the end of April 2011 (four adults from mid-fifties to late-sixties). Wonderful views from the hotel. Good walks all round. Rooms comfortable and clean, even cleaned on a Sunday. Towels replenished daily if required. Ask at reception if you want Hot chocolate or Horlicks as an alternative to coffee or tea. All staff are helpful and friendly, especially Roland (waiter). He made our stay, nothing was too much trouble and he was always smiling. I would definitely stay again.

Norbreck Hotel

Just back from a weekend break at the Norbreck, this hotel was great, yes it’s in need of a refurbishment upstairs but the rooms are spotless, cleaning staff in every day, the dining room has amazing views, the food is good and Sarah is the best member of staff there, she should be made head of house, most helpful girl if it wasn’t for her we would not have got a window seat. Other dinning staff not so helpful and don’t no their jobs so well, we are a couple in our mid-40s and we will be returning.
