The Savoy Hotel is a prime example of Edwardian architecture. It is one of the closest hotels in Bournemouth to both beach and town centre, and stands in extensive grounds on the town’s fashionable West Cliff, and provides a scenic and relaxing location for leisure travellers. Inside, the hotel  has been sympathetically decorated and maintained.

4 Night Break

We had a lovely 4 night break, the room was newly decorated with all new furniture and carpets, it was kept very clean. Our room overlooked the garden and the sea, we had a balcony too, the bathroom had a bath with shower over it, plenty of hot water, all the rooms are being upgraded, staff were very helpful and hardworking, the food was great, a choice of 4 meals every night, we couldn't fault it. Saw the entertainment one night, a male singer he was very good. He sang songs from the 50s-70s, would recommend.

March Mini-Break

We had a lovely stay on a self-drive to the Savoy Bournemouth with parking at £5 per day. Quality of food at breakfast and dinner and standard of service very good. Room spacious and clean, twin beds comfortable. Entertainment not a priority for us but really enjoyed Neil Scott; a good singer with just the right amount of banter thrown in! Overall - good sea view hotel with pool and gardens. Staff attentive and courteous. Look forward to returning in warmer months. Excellent value!

3 Night Break

We had a lovely stay, room still not fully decorated .But very clean. Work still in progress. Lovely lounge and dining area. Great breakfast. Staff excellent, helpful and friendly. The waiter on table 40, well mannered and fast at serving. All the staff very smart. Good value for money and the Hotel is very close to the beach and prom. Excellent value. Hope to stay again later in the year and bring along some friends. Good TV, modern set.

3 night Winter break

Had a great 3 night break at the Savoy Hotel. As it was our first experience of a coach trip with Shearings, we didn't really know what to expect, but we were very impressed. Our room was large, warm (maybe too warm!) and tastefully decorated. The food was good with a change of menu every night; the staff were all extremely pleasant and courteous. Fantastic value for money and we will definitely be booking other breaks in the future.

First time at The Savoy

Just come back from 2 night mothers and daughters weekend break and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff in all departments was very helpful and the rooms was nice and clean if a bit cold, also the bathroom was a bit cold no heating in there. Food was very good and waiter Javier was excellent would definitely come again. Entertainment was very good.

Needs some refurbishment

Staff are really lovely - friendly and very helpful. Food was very good with plenty of choice. Room was fine but bathroom was nasty - very old and grubby. Realise that this was a budget holiday but hotel needs a spot of TLC.

First visit to Savoy

We only booked for a 2 day visit, but was so impressed with everything that we will stay for 4 days next time, in not too distant future. The room was spacious, although the view could have been better. The staff in all departments were so helpful and smiling and so keen to help with any request. The grounds in some areas especially the sitting out area under the trees with white (very dirty) furniture needed some TLC. Parking was a bit tight, but better than fighting for a space on the roads.

Highway Extortion

Hotel and food was good, staff friendly and room clean and comfortable. Shame that this had to be spoiled by Head Office extortion. Parking at the time of booking and paying was free. To arrive and be told that we could not park a) as we hadn't paid £5 per day extra and b) the car park was fully booked. I booked and paid for a Self Drive break therefore I booked a parking slot. I paid in full no mention of a parking fee and returning home still no notification. Hence Highway Extortion.

You get what you pay for...

Had requested lower floors but was given top floor which I couldn’t cope with. Staff very helpful and managed to change us to a lower floor. Room was basic but ok for the money paid. Not much of a selection on the dinner menu but the option of paying more for a bigger selection surprised me, I'd not seen this anywhere else before. Didnt feel rushed when eating which I was pleased about. The gardens, pool area, and outside seating could do with a good clean...Not very inviting...

Swimming pool still not open

Have just come back from staying at the Savoy for 4 days. I must say the food was excellent and all of the staff were friendly. The downside was the swimming pool which looked as though it had not been used for a long time and the putting green was impossible to play on. There was a lot of drilling going on and if I had known that there was building work in progress I would not have booked my stay at this time.

First Time

Just got back from the Savoy where myself and 2 friends stayed for a weekend. We had a lovely time the rooms were basic and we booked well in advance so thought rooms should have been better. The food was great value and the staff are a credit to the Hotel if only every hotel had such pleasant staff. The pool was still not open and still full of leaves and could do with a good clean up, but will definitely go back just for the great service offered by all staff.

Savoy - Could be better

My wife and I enjoyed our recent break at the Savoy and found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is unfortunately not to a high standard due mostly to its age, our bedroom was comfortable but could have had better fixtures and fittings. The garden and swimming pool was the most disappointing, the garden being full of weeds and not looked after, the pool was full of leaves and looked very unpleasant. The area around it was also run down, why keep it?

Dodgy Parking

We enjoyed our stay, no complaints about the hotel or the staff, meals and entertainment, 1st class. But I must complain about the parking, my car is 2 months old, and the offside wing as been badly scraped on the car park by some careless driver, it will cost a few pounds to sort out.

Lovely Winter Break

Have just returned from a 5 day break at the Savoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was enhanced by the efficient and very friendly staff. We must make special mention of the dining room staff and the excellent choice and quality of food. Our room was very clean, comfortable and warm despite the sub zero temperatures outside.

Good choice, good value

Booked this short break months ago and were really lucky with the weather... wall-to-wall sunshine. Having read the trip advisor reviews (ignore most, which are snobbish) we paid for a garden/sea view and asked for the 4th floor. This is just what we got, room 408. Our room was pristine, seemed to be newly-decorated, well furnished and very spacious, with sunshine from early morning to late evening. The hotel itself was charming, staff efficient meals good. 2 mins to beach funicular and front.

Enjoyable holiday at The Savoy

I stayed at the Savoy on a 4-night break from 25th - 29th April 2011. The hotel was as good as expected and maybe even better. The location was wonderful on the West Cliff, although a bit of a climb from the town centre! Views were wonderful of the pier and the coast. My room (a single) was small but very adequate. It was comfortable and clean and I was particularly lucky having a first floor room overlooking the gardens and the sea. The food was superb.

Great value and location

My wife and I plus my mother stayed at the Savoy for 3 night. We had a double my mother a single. Rooms were excellent, very spacious and clean. Full marks to the hotel. Reception area and staff very good. Friendly and helpful. Dining area excellent with great waiters and service. Breakfast excellent. Evening meal! Starter good and dessert good. Nice to be able to have tea/coffee in dining area. Main course not so good. Order the steak as a supplement it was fantastic. Great time and value.

The Savoy - A Lovely Hotel

Another great stay

Our second stay at the Savoy hotel, and again everything was great. Reception staff were friendly and very professional. Entertainment was very good. Food excellent. Came straight from the Shearings in Bath and wow, what a difference, staff were 100% more pleasant and as for the internal decor it looked like a hotel. The only downside a very small lift for a busy hotel, which I suppose can't be improved upon.
