Wonderful stay

We did not have a booking and arrived at the Majestic Sunday afternoon, we were offered a twin, sea view room. We couldn't fault the hotel or the wonderful staff both at the front desk and restaurant. Thank you Majestic, we had two lovely days with you. The ground floor was modern and the outside seating area was such a bonus, we were very lucky to find a car parking space right outside the hotel which cost us £2.00 to park via a permit from the hotel, already planning return visit!

The Majestic

I booked my parents on this weekend for a surprise for their golden wedding and they had a great time they said hotel was good food very good the whole thing in general was great they live in Hemel Hempstead so were picked up from there and would do it again, thank you to Shearings and the hotel staff for helping to make their wedding anniversary extra special which they really deserved.

Lovely Hotel, Great Value

I was so pleased when I walked into my room at the Majestic. It was a standard single, but it was spacious, had been recently decorated and had new carpet and curtains. The bed was very comfortable. In fact the whole hotel looked great. The online pictures should be updated to show how modern the lounge and other areas of the hotel now look. The food was very good and the service in the restaurant and bar was excellent. All of the staff were very helpful. Great value for money! I will go back.

New Year Break 2013/2014

Just returned from the New Year break at the Majestic. We had a great time. Maybe the hotel is a bit dated but very very clean, the staff were always helpful and the entertainment was good. When we got up on New Year's Day there was no sign that there had been a celebration the night before as everything was cleared away so the staff must have worked very hard after we all went to bed. We would definitely return.

5 day trip

Went on 5 day break with Shearings only 2nd time we have been with them. Hotel better than some of reviews given on trip advisor. The food was very good indeed, staff fantastic, our room wasn't very big and hasn't been updated yet but was clean and comfortable. The entertainment was better on some nights than others but compare very good. Our driver Tony was excellent, much better than previous driver we had at Easter, very knowledgeable and friendly.

Weekend Away

Really enjoyed our weekend at the Majestic. Food and staff could not be faulted and entertainment was quite good. It would have been nice though to have a room that was nicely decorated but I understand that all rooms will be 'updated in time'. I hope so.

Accomodation

Hi there. We have just come back from Eastbourne majestic. We had 5 days at this hotel not recommended for older generation. We had to walk up three flights of stairs with suitcase. Not very good at our age there were older people than us. Dining room ok a bit cramped not much room. Waiter service could not fault at all. Trips out ok nothing to shout about not enough time at some places. To see the battle of Hastings we only had 30 minutes to go round but you had to pay £7.00 no good.

Just returned after 5 wonderful days hotel good but does need a bit of refurbishment nice and clean food was very good entertainment ok but we did not need it with the crowd we were with comedian was very funny and had a great voice staff were very obliging. I must mention the coach driver Chris he was great we had a really good laugh with him he was smashing. Weather was a bit cold but dry, thanks Sandra for organising it can't wait for the next.

Excellent

What a lovely hotel. Great food, good menu and plenty of it. The staff are so welcoming, polite and very helpful. The entertainment was the best I have seen at Shearings for a long time (20 years). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would like to see the entertainment back at all Shearings hotels? It is the entertainment that makes a good holiday.

Pleasant Surprise

Fantastic Break!

Had a lovely mid-week break! Although it was cold, the sun was shining which was a bonus! Fantastic value break. We had room 126 which wasn't very good, there was a leak behind the cistern in the bathroom and the view was of the bins in the back yard. Ceiling VERY high and a lot of walking about from the room above ALL night. Entertainment was absolutely fantastic and food was delicious although service was slow. Will definitely go again!

Great Weekend

Had a lovely weekend, food was great and plentiful. We had a double room with sea views, hotel was very clean, needs a lick of paint here and there. That didn't bother us as everything else was good. Including the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Eastbourne is a lovely seaside town, and from the hotel you can have a nice stroll along to the pier, and town all on an even surface. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Good Value

Lovely twin room on 3rd floor overlooking the sea. Staff could not be more helpful. Reception rooms very spacious but did not like very small lift. Food reasonable but main course quite poor, vegetables overcooked. Otherwise my daughter and I had very good time.

Great Value Break

Although we were the youngest by miles here we were never made to feel like the outsiders. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed it, the room was fine, the food was lovely and in general it was great value for money. We had a fire evacuation and the staff dealt with it really well, making sure we were out and even though it was half way through our main meal and once we had got back in dinner was over the staff wanted to make sure we finished but we declined but got extra at breakfast.

Great Weekend

Four of us stayed for a long weekend, the rooms were first class, and we had a sea view. The staff were very friendly, the food was good, starter and dessert were 10 out of 10 the main course not quite so good, but in all enjoyable. We will all be coming again. Thanks for a lovely weekend.

Great Value Break

Stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated right across the road from the beach, sadly out of bounds during the stay due to coastal erosion work, but this is due for completion by April. It is a short level walk along the prom to the pier, we had a great view of it from the room as we upgraded to a sea view for a tenner extra. The food was excellent and entertainment good, the hotel could do with a lick of paint here and there but highly recommended.
