Very good holiday overall. Lovely places to visit nearby. The entertainment was good, especially to Rory Wilde and Pam West. Hotel needed a bit of TLC, where I was located you had to wait for the toilet to fill up for about 20 mins! The hot water was very dangerous, needed to be careful! Overall the holiday and the hotel was good. Especially a well done to our lovely coach driver "Matt". Thanks again xx

Don't miss this hotel

I'm a bit reluctant to praise this hotel too much in case it gets booked up and we can't get back soon. This must be one of the best value hotels in the UK. The rooms are lovely, the food is FANTASTIC and the staff could not be more friendly or helpful. On top of that there is a great leisure centre and very enjoyable and varied entertainment every night. Even the hotels location is good, close to loads of interesting places to visit. A genuine 10 out of 10.

Great time and very good time

Just had a 5 day holiday at the Eden Arms Hotel with Shearings. Had a great time. The facilities were great, used the pool and hot tub which were very good. The staff were marvellous in all departments and the food was excellent. We would go there again and recommend it to our friends

Excellent Value and Location

This is our first time we stayed in a Shearings Hotel. An excellent value for six nights break, part of which was our Wedding Anniversary, flowers was lovely, room very nice & clean, bed was comfortable. Restaurant staff was lovely, Head chef John, Bea, Julia, Susan, Brett & Mandy and the lovely Anya, Nicki the chamber maid, the lovely young man at the front desk when we arrived & Karen. This Hotel even caters for my food allergy. Lovely sauna, Dave was funny, overall we were happy. See you soon.

Excellent Value

An excellent value three night break. Really good facilities for cost, rooms clean, fair sized towels and nice cotton feel bed linen. All staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff were efficient but perhaps an assistant to welcome diners, provide water to table might be helpful. The breakfast was well supplied with cereals and juices etc. but at times crockery was limited, and this might be helped by presence of assistant waiting person who could clear and replenish promptly to help. 9**

Excellent Location

I have stayed in many Shearings Hotels before and have had some great holidays this was my first stay in the Eden Arms and it did not disappoint me the hotel was clean and comfy I asked for a low floor room and got what I asked for the staff was very kind and friendly and the food was outstanding I booked self drive but did not need the car as bus service was located outside hotel I look forward to returning again in the future.

Good location for self drive

Overall a good holiday, excellent central location for many places in the North East. Staff were friendly, especially Brett - nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. Some niggles about the hotel, no razor points in rooms (well at least in mine nor any of the other rooms the reception staff looked at to move me to). Restaurant service left a little to be desired, had to wait over 20 minutes from finishing main course to being asked what I wanted for dessert.

Friendly Hotel

We went to the Eden for my wife’s birthday in March because I booked early got wine fruit and chocolates in room was a nice touch. Found all the staff pleasant and helpful .bedroom very nice and clean. Food was lovely. The pool was nice and relaxing not too busy. We. Didn’t see all we wanted to so we went back in April and the hotel didn’t disapoint. Staff just as helpful and they remembered us from first visit which is nice with the amount of people passing through. Would recommend hotel to friends.

Excellent

We stayed at the Eden Arms Hotel over the weekend and into the next week. I would like to comment that every single member of staff was courteous, kind and committed to our stay being as pleasant as possible. We were in the area for family reasons at a very difficult time and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The food was excellent and well presented. I cannot commend this hotel enough.

Value

Good all round value for the package that we paid for. Staff excellent. Dave Ferry (entertainer-superb). Food fully acceptable except for vegetarian options. So, the decor is in need of a makeover in the bedrooms but when you are away you do not want to sit in the room when there is so much beauty outside. Thanks to Shearings for a lovely break.

First Visit

Hotel was good value, staff were very good. We had a nice large room at the back of the hotel. Food was better than we have had in other Shearings Hotels. The location could be better as there was nowhere to walk at night after dinner. We will return in future.

Good friendly hotel

The staff were excellent. The food was very good. The facilities were very good. The only let down was the state of the hotel. It needs some TLC and it will be fine. The floor boards were very noisy. You could hear people walking upstairs from the bar area. Apart from that you really could not ask for anything more. All the staff were on hand to help with any queries. Entertainment has to be mentioned which was good on both nights. We will return again.

Good All Round Break

This hotel was ideal for the breakaway we was wanting. The food was excellent (always hot) and very good value for money. The All Inclusive option was also good value. Entertainment not fantastic but good enough for this type of hotel. Staff friendly and the buses okay Hope to go back next year to see the sights not seen this time around.
