If it’s exercise you’re after, you’ll find Oxley’s, our partner health spa, is ideal. Just a five minute drive from the hotel. Keep fit in the gym, or unwind with one of twelve indulgent treatments. Just spent excellent 3 day break at Derwentwater Hotel where staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful and that includes the manager who was just as hardworking as the rest of what was obviously a happy and content team. Entertainment on Hogmanay was excellent whilst the other two nights provided background music but were not strong enough to hold crowds attention. This was by far the best of 4 self-drive breaks spent in Shearings hotels since Hogmanay 2011.

Can't fault the hotel whatsoever, food, service, entertainment, MATTRESS, views, position, very friendly staff made the weekend perfect. Brought my 84 year old mum here for a little trip down memory lane, years ago she walked the fells and had her honeymoon up in the lakes so I wanted it to be very special, and IT WAS, she came away a VERY HAPPY LADY. The hotel was just perfect in every way for our needs. Wouldn't hesitate whatsoever in booking again or recommending.

We had a family self drive holiday for birthday treat, excellent food always hot and very well presented. all staff were very polite, there was eight adults, two children and a dog, but well accommodated for, although our room was in much need of TLC in the carpet area, everyone else ok, lovely hotel in nice area plenty to see with close flat walking distance over river to town centre.

Lovely hotel. Very peaceful location. Superb scenery. Staff so pleasant and helpful. Food truly exceptional. Room just a little "tired, Bath very short in length being the only minus point. Having said that we would certainly go back without any hesitation.

Our first stay at the Derwentwater had a lovely time and felt that we got value for money, the staff were very friendly and polite, and the hotel was clean and set in lovely surroundings. Would certainly visit again.

Just returned from Easter break at Derewentwater, had a lovely time, food and service really good, rooms clean and tidy, had a problem with TV but was sorted straight away, if you want peace and quiet this is the place to stay
