About Torbay Hotel

Lying in a region often referred to as the 'English Riviera' because of its mild climate, bright blue waters and semi-tropical flora, Torquay is well-renowned for its cosmopolitan atmosphere. Reflecting the resort's lively style, the attractive Torbay Hotel, standing in an impressive position on the level seafront, overlooking the marina and Princess Gardens, is in a superb location. Offering all the comforts of home (and more), with a stylish lounge bar, sun terrace, indoor swimming pool and entertainment room in which to meet new friends, there's plenty to amuse. With the beach, Princess Theatre, harbour and town centre shops lying just a few minutes walk away, there's plenty to interest you out-of-doors too!

The Torbay Hotel has a limited amount of car parking spaces available in a secure car park a short distance from the hotel, these can be reserved at £5.00 per day.  On arrival pull up in the loading bay (parking in the yellow bus bays is an offence) to un-load your luggage, and collect your parking pass if purchased. We recommend that one person stays with the car. There is also a public car park nearby, charges apply

Torbay Hotel

Rooms are very 70s in need of updating unless you pay for premier or superior rooms, had a sea view room on the front but a lot of noise off the traffic, food and staff very good but hotel is ready for a revamp, not the best hotel in Torquay, don't think we will use Shearings hotels again.

Torbay Hotel

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in over 30 years. We were put on the top floor, and had to endure a room, that every time you moved the floorboards creaked loudly, which also included the hallway, it was hell, we never slept more than one hour. All the manager said was well we never get complaints. Lucky for us we were self drive, and left for home early. After complaining, on the 4th Feb 2013, over 3 months later we were given a £50 gift voucher, to be used for future hols.

Excellent Break

Lovely hotel, excellent position, good food, nice room. Christian looked after us well in Dining room. Entertainment good. Hotel very clean and comfortable. One of Shearing's better hotels. Excellent driver Mike Whitney. We had very good info on trips out and extra trips most interesting. We shall return later in year, we hope. Mo and Ron Hyde.

We have just spent a fantastic Christmas week we were there last Christmas. So close to the town and sea front/staff made everyone so welcome room clean we never had a very good view. As room was at the back of the building. Steve the entertainment was first class. Food very good and waiters we found very helpful. Thinking of returning again for the third year Keep up the good work Torbay Hotel.

Superb location but cold

Just returned from a 5 day break having taking my mum to Torquay for a short break. The Hotel is in a superb location for shops and buses and flat for walking. I upgraded the room to a sea view and the room was lovely however..... The hotel was cold, needed to ask staff to turn over the TV wouldn't allow guests to be trusted with the remote control and food quite basic. Staff in the dining room were excellent and could not be faulted. Should have been warmer I ended up leaving with a cold!

A greak break

Stayed for a five day bay inclusive break, and could not fault one thing about the holiday. Had a front facing room which was kept very clean by Jane. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Bar staff were excellent as were the dining room staff. Had a great Birthday break with good entertainment, especially guest artist Paris, a fantastic singer. Shall definitely be going back, sooner rather than later.

Assistance

We visited friends staying at Torbay Hotel. My husband is disabled. There is a parking problem at the hotel but the staff were wonderful. They found us a parking place next to the hotel. The reception were efficient and polite. A credit to the hotel Thanks so much

Great Hotel

2nd stay within a month. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay again. Great position on the sea front. Bus stops in both directions right outside of the hotel. Good food, friendly staff, clean hotel. Be back in the spring. Very close to the shopping centre of Torquay. Easy access to and from Exeter and all the coastal towns, Brixham, Dawlish, Totnes, and the Moors, etc. Will I go again? you bet, can’t wait for the spring!

Torbay Hotel

Lovely Hotel, in very good position on the sea front. Clean, comfortable room, bit of a walk from lift. Good food with friendly hard working staff. Small bar, again with friendly and helpful staff. Good entertainment with a tribute night of Nat King Cole. Hotel clean and comfortable but a bit too warm for my liking. Enjoyable stay, would definitively stay here again or any other Shearings Hotel. Well done to all the staff, well looked after. Despite being disabled the ground floor had good access.
