Wonderful Anniversary

We had never been to this hotel before but found it very easily with the receptionist’s accurate directions. Very good welcome. Nice room although noisy as it backed onto the entertainment stage (No 42). Not noisy after about 10.30pm so ok for sleep. Food very good and choices excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful and our waitress, Sharon, worked so very hard, as did Mac. The Manager arranged a banner for the wall on our anniversary (45th) and he also organised a nice candle for our table.

Great Holiday

The first time my friend and I have had a coach holiday and it won't be the last. We will most defiantly be returning to the Tor Park Hotel with Shearings. Cannot fault anything, good food, good entertainment, nice room, comfy beds and the staff were brilliant, especially in the dining room. Thanks to all at the Tor Park Hotel for a holiday to remember.

Great Time

We were quickly booked in and was on the ground floor , had a brilliant time , entertainment was Fantastic food good but it took a long time to come out from the kitchen, never waited that long for meals at other shearing hotels so it was a bit rushed if you were going on the trips . Packed lunch was very dry No spread on bread. But would recommend the holiday.

Excellent Break

Just back from staying at the Tor Park Hotel. Had a really lovely time. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food varied and excellent value for the reasonable price of the holiday. Been with Shearings before and this is about the best holiday we've had with them. The weather was lovely and fellow guests really friendly. Four free drinks per night!! Bus stop right outside hotel to centre of Torquay. Also enjoyed trips to Plymouth and Brixham.

I’VE JUST GOT BACK HAD A GOOD WEEK WITH THE OVER 50'S when making this booking I asked for 1 special requirement and a joining door between the 2 rooms on arriving I was told none of the rooms have an a joining door if I was told this I would not have booked the hotel. Staff are very helpful when ask pity the messages don’t get past on to the top as I reported on Tuesday my net had come down I said give me a screw and I’d fix it myself but on Saturday still not done. Had a good holiday but no 50 yet

An Excellent Week

Recently spent seven nights at this hotel. Although our room was below the restaurant it was very large and comfortable with a large walk in wardrobe and big bathroom (the shower was excellent). The staff at the hotel were very friendly and efficient, espcially the two ladies at the bar who were always cheerful. Our waitress for the week kept us in good spirits with her cheerful attitude (table 19). The weather was mostly sunny and we enjoyed our trips out, all in all a grand week out

Great but

Just returned from a great 8 day break. Our driver Mike was amusing and informative. The staff friendly and helpful, the entertainment could not be faulted. Our room was perfect. Now I come to the 'but', I am sorry but the food (evening meals) were very hit and miss. I don't know how the menu description and what is on the plate can vary so much, other guests made similar observations. We have been to other Bay Hotels and know they can get it right.

Just had 4 nights in this hotel. Have had many holidays with Shearings, but we think this is our favourite. Why? Wonderful friendly staff and our stay especially great because of the good and competent services of Manager Aneta! Made the booking with very short notice, and she went to a lot of trouble to find us an excellent room. And, if like us, you have a Bus Pass, virtually outside the door you can jump on a bus to take you to Newton Abbott, Babbacombe, Paignton or Brixham! Wonderful!

Great break

We spent a 5 day holiday with Shearings here. All in all it was a good holiday. The only drawback was that our room (No. 42) was behind the stage for the entertainment so if you wanted to go to bed early you had to put with the noise from that till 11pm (one night it was 11:38pm) The room itself was very good, spacious & clean & handy to all the amenities. The food was good & tasty. We have been to most of Shearings hotels & this one rates about average

Excellent Value

We have just had a 5 day inclusive break at The Tor Park. What a difference 5 months makes! All nicely decorated and new chairs in the entertainment area. We were here last December and couldn't get over the change. Much improved. Our coach driver - Stephen - (with a ph)! Was very pleasant and helpful. We would happily return for a third holiday. This was our 15th Shearings holiday and look forward to the 16th!

Relaxing Hotel

A very friendly hotel. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Very warm room even when it was frosty outside. Our room a little on the small side but clean, and we had a shower, which we requested, Relaxing meal times with a good service from our waitress Sharon, who was always smiling and took an interest in people. Excellent value.

Can't be beaten for value!

Just got back from 7 days self drive. Huge praise for the friendly staff, especially to Sharpen, one of the waitresses and Fran on the bar. Food good, excellent choice. TV lounge never had enough seats for folks in the evening. Avoided compare/acts as bingo not our thing and we felt a bit naff. Front needs tidy up with a leaf blower! Our room (9) had bath but no proper shower enclosure and mattress had huge dip on one side. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Cost less than £50 a day all inclusive.

The Tor Park Hotel Review

Hotel a little dated and in need of a face lift. Entertainment was good especially the comedian (forgot his name). Chairs in entertainment lounge definitely need replacing, extremely uncomfortable. The excursions are well worth going on. Food in this hotel is adequate with plenty of choice. Our bedroom was kept exceptionally clean by Sheila, who provided us with much appreciated information on the local area. All staff friendly and helpful. Overall an enjoyable holiday which I would recommend.

The Tor Park Hotel Review

We have just returned from a four day, Monday to Friday, all Inclusive break at the tor Park Hotel. Which we can only say was Shearing’s at it's best! Having read some of the reviews that have been posted on the internet regarding the Tor Park Hotel, we are still wondering if we stayed in the same place. No guest’s that we spoke to had anything but praise for the management, staff and facilities. Everybody tries so hard to make your stay enjoyable, you just cannot ask for more. This hotel may not be on the sea front, but with a bus service every 10 minutes to the centre of Torquay, right outside the front door, it really is in a great quiet location. Check out the patio and Garden area, real sun traps and really peaceful. We were on an all inclusive break and wanted for nothing the whole time we were there. Would we go back, You Bet! Thanks Tor Park for a great break!

Still need help?
