Cheshire is located in North West England and contains many famous towns, natural landscapes and world famous parks and gardens. Chester is the county town of the region and is known for its Roman ruins, city walls, spectacular River Dee setting and medieval Tudor buildings.
Surrounding Chester are many popular tourist attractions and world class places to visit. The city of Liverpool, after a successful stint as European Capital of Culture in 2008, is now one of the most visited cities in Britain and home to the Albert Dock, the recently built Liverpool One shopping centre and a wealth of musical and architectural history. Mirroring Liverpool is the Wirral Peninsula which is the location of Port Sunlight, a model village for workers in the Lever soap factory.
Tatton Park is one of the most complete historic estates in England. The Mansion, Gardens, Farm, Old Hall, 1,000 acre deer park and speciality shops all combine to form one of the most picturesque and is most visited park attractions in the county.
The Peak District is Britain's first national park, established in 1951, is visited by people from all over the world. They come to find peace, tranquility and adventure, experiencing some of England’s finest climbing, caving, walking and cycling. The National Park is also home to 38,000 people.
