The hotel, Bath is part of the architectural history of Bath and one of the oldest hotels in the city, dating back as far as 1770.
Bath itself has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and contains some of the finest architectural sites in Europe, most within walking distance of the hotel.
The hotel is a stone built, grade 2 listed mansion, typical of the period, described in The Times of Friday 13th July 1860 as "one of the most delightful houses in Bath." The Hotel is in a magnificent location, just 15 minutes walk from the historic town centre.
The hotel enjoys delightful views over the Georgian part of Bath and wooded hills beyond. The interior boasts high ceilings and elegant plaster work, with 56 bedrooms over 3 floors.
This hotel has a car park with a limited amount of priority spaces, these can be reserved at £5.00 per day.

Being an old hotel our rooms are delightfully decorated and have all the amenities you would expect for a modern hotel. These include Wireless internet access, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers. We have a number of different room types including our ambassador rooms, they are large and furnished in a comfortable contemporary style with a digital TV and Wi-Fi access, and all have a large bath with shower.
Our Standard Rooms are charming and have everything you would expect from a modern hotel - private facilities, a TV and everything you need to make yourself a hot beverage.

Bath has a wide variety of museums and galleries including the Fashion Museum, No 1. Royal Crescent, the Jane Austen Centre and the Building of Bath Museum. The oldest house in Bath is home to the famous Sally Lunn bun which is still made to the original secret recipe. Yet Bath is not buried in the past! Festivals, theatre and vibrant street entertainment bring life and excitement to this beautiful city. Bath is also a shopper’s haven, with a reputation for fashion that goes back to Georgian times. Set within a compact and accessible city centre Bath’s range of independent and well known stores leaves shoppers spoilt for choice.

Stayed last 3 nights in room 309. Fantastic views over Bath as room at the front. Plenty of hot water, brilliant shower and bath sheets not small thin bath towels. Staff very friendly and polite nothing too much trouble. Food superb both in choice and quality. Recommend to anyone. Ok hotel needs a little TLC but no one has an open ended cheque book!

Our gratitude to the staff who graciously returned an item of jewellery. We left in the room we had a great stay the staff were very attentive and the food was good we had a very nice room. Would recommend this hotel to all thank you.

The staff of this hotel are magnificent. Friendly but professional, efficient and welcoming. The food was superb though I would have liked a little more choice, the hotel was great, warm and very clean. I am partially sighted so the only criticism I have is that the bar, reception and lounge were too dark. There was not enough lighting for me to see clearly let alone read and I had the same problem with bedside lighting. We are a forgotten minority as our disability is not obvious.

Huge beautiful building decorated delightfully. Stayed in room 234 ambassador room what can I say huge room with flat screen TV decorated modern throughout bathroom had both separate bath and shower very impressed! Staff were trained to the highest standard very friendly interacted nicely with visitors - superb effort well done! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

The staff at Lansdown Grove were great. Nothing was too much trouble for them and there were no silly 'rules' in place. The food was very good, the choice excellent and the kitchen staff deserve a hearty thanks for contributing to a wonderful week. We cannot praise the staff as a whole too highly. The atmosphere created was one of total relaxation - someone else would do the worrying. Would thoroughly recommend it. Well done all at Lansdown. Bath is great too!

I had a pleasant and comfortable stay here. The room was spacious and clean with an en suite bath /shower which were both warm and the laundry was of a high standard. The meals were excellent both in choice and quality and couldn't be faulted as were all the staff who were helpful, pleasant and went that extra mile. Would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

We had a lovely 5 day break at this hotel, our room was enormous and had a lovely 4 poster bed that was so comfortable. Breakfasts were very tasty and well presented and hot. There was 4 different choices each night for evening meal and it was so hard to choose as they all looked really appetising. I would like to thank Jane for organising our lovely room and the time of our evening meal it was so helpful to me and made the holiday all the more enjoyable. Thanks Frank for the footie chats.

We nearly always look for a Shearings Hotel as we know we can depend on service and cleanliness. The Lansdown Grove did not disappoint us. This was up to the usual standard we expect. The staff were very good and attentive, the room was spacious and clean. The food was excellent. Town centre a nice walk downhill with a bus every 15 mins back to right outside the door. What more can I say..... I look forward to my next mid-week break.
