Royal Treatment

From the moment of arrival we were treated like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff in the hotel. The superior room was very comfortable and clean. The restaurant menu choice was always mouth watering and on arrival so was the food. This was our first visit to this hotel and it certainly won’t be our last.

Great but nearly melted!

We returned to my home town as part of golden wedding celebrations. It is 12 years since we last visited this hotel and we had a great time. However, we had to remove the 13.5 tog duvet from its cover during a mini heat wave! Even the beach party did not disturb us in a good room at the back.

Cleanliness, service, food all faultless. This was our second visit and will be second of many. We enjoyed everything on our visit and would recommend Grand Atlantic to any of our friends. We chose to eat from the main memo on one of the nights and we had a first class meal served exactly as requested nothing is too much trouble. It is a warm and comfortable hotel we had a turret room and were delighted with the facilities and comfort. Looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent

We were upgraded to a turret room 310 which is very roomy and comfortable with excellent sea views and a good flat screen TV. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.

Excellent yet again

Thank you so much to ALL the staff at this hotel. They are all stars making everyone feel special. The service, meals and the room was top class. This is the best Shearings hotel. The food is wonderful and served quickly and with a smile could not do enough for us. Everyone there is so helpful all you need to do is ask nothing to much trouble. Many many thanks for making this yet again a truly wonderful holiday.

Best Shearings Hotels so far

This was the 3rd Shearings Hotel we have stayed at, we had a superior room and it was certainly worth that little bit extra. All the staff were first class, special mention for the lady on reception who took the time to set up our laptops for the Wi-Fi. The food was first class and if we wanted a small variation on the menu, which was no problem. The room was spacious and very clean. The whole stay was relaxing, must go there again.

Not bad Hotel

Impressive from the outside and good situation on sea-front, a level 5 minute walk to town. Public rooms are well appointed and decorated. Unfortunately the heating problem still exists - a permanent problem?! Our room was freezing as the central heating did not work at all. We were given a fan heater which sounded like a train and a halogen heater which looked like a big orange fire-ball. Trailing wires over the floor! Staff very good, menu quite boring. May try again in summer.

Fantastic Hotel

Fantastic Thank you to all at the Grand Atlantic. What a fantastic 5 days we have had. Our room was great even though it was at the back, it was large, clean and that’s all we required. Food and service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We did arrive in the floods but the drivers on the coach altered the trips so we still had days out. A big thank you to them. It is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in very Grand and great location, all in all a brilliant holiday.

Not very happy

Central heating was broken, have 2 converter heaters, but we were still cold at nightime, food could have been a bit better. But the staff were very friendly.

Service with a smile

An enjoyable three day break made pleasurable by friendly efficient staff. Especially Wendy the receptionist who went out of her way to make our stay at the Hotel a success. Food excellent, good variety, hot and tasty and always served by cheerful staff. Maybe hotel would benefit from a little refurbishment, excellent value for money. Hopefully we will return next year. Well done Wayne for recruiting such amazing staff.

Good value for money

Service good, entertainment, good. Bedroom reasonable, bathroom tiling needed attention. Menu's changed every evening, with good options. Hotel foyer & lounge area needs a little brightening up (perhaps better lighting) to make a better first impression. Plenty of car parking space. Would certainly visit again.

Lovely hotel

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The standard twin room was above what we expected. lovely see view. Only a couple of things that could do with being looked at are possibly a fan in the rooms as standard as it was so hot in our room had a job to sleep a couple of nights. The service at dinner, the wait between courses took a little longer than we would have liked, some of the staff couldn’t speak English very well which made it difficult. Apart from that lovely stay will come again

Location, Location, Location.

A very warm welcome, friendly and helpful staff that are willing to go the extra mile, excellent food, a lovely room(superior grade) with incomparable panoramic views and a generous helping of good old fashioned service delivered with a smile and a genuine willingness to help. My wife and I stayed here for a four-night midweek break and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We have stayed at other Shearings hotels and all have lived up to expectations and are tremendous value for money. THANK YOU.

Good Honest Value

A super 5 day self drive break booked via Shearings Coast and Country hotels. I had a lovely, comfortable spacious single room with a sea view. Fourth floor room with a large bathroom with shower. The food was excellent with a good choice of meals and a free bar and free morning paper. The staff were polite and the service was very good. Considering the price of this 5 day four night holiday I find it hard to beat for value. Handy for Bath, Wells etc. I will definitely use this hotel again.

Worth A Visit

My wife and I stayed on a four night break (self drive) at this hotel and really enjoyed it. We have in the past had a one very bad stay at another hotel but also had a few good experiences with Shearings and this hotel will be visited again and again. The food was value for money with every request met and that went for everything else also. Being a disabled person (walking mobility) my requests never fell on deaf ears. Thanks to ALL THE STAFF and we will see you again.
